Collapse must be near now….

I’ve been waiting for the Matrix to collapse for years now, and I’m amazed it hasn’t done so yet.  When the GFC hit in 2008, I was pretty sure that this was it, it had begun.  Of course, collapse is underway.  Civilisational collapse isn’t like a bridge collapse though.  The cracks may appear years before a bridge falls down, but when it does, it’s usually all in one go.  Civilisation is far more complex than a single bridge, however, and civilisation has ‘self healing’ facilities that a bridge cannot have…..

But this morning, I read this:

Pentagon bracing for public dissent over climate and energy shocks

“Top secret US National Security Agency (NSA) documents disclosed by the Guardian have shocked the world with revelations of a comprehensive US-based surveillance system with direct access to Facebook, Apple, Google, Microsoft and other tech giants. New Zealand court records suggest that data harvested by the NSA’s Prism system has been fed into the Five Eyes intelligence alliance whose members also include the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand” states the Guardian……

So, they’re onto me……..  stiff cheddar.

Last month, sweeping changes to US military laws formally granted the Pentagon extraordinary powers to intervene in a domestic “emergency” or “civil disturbance”:

“Federal military commanders have the authority, in extraordinary emergency circumstances where prior authorization by the President is impossible and duly constituted local authorities are unable to control the situation, to engage temporarily in activities that are necessary to quell large-scale, unexpected civil disturbances.”

So there you have it……  the authorities KNOW that collapse is coming, that what is happening in Syria, Egypt, Turkey, Brazil, is all coming to a town near you.

Otherwise, why would the US National Security Strategy have warned as early as 2006 that:

“Environmental destruction, whether caused by human behaviour or cataclysmic mega-disasters such as floods, hurricanes, earthquakes, or tsunamis. Problems of this scope may overwhelm the capacity of local authorities to respond, and may even overtax national militaries, requiring a larger international response.”

And why would they, two years later, describe the arrival of a new “era of persistent conflict” due to competition for “depleting natural resources and overseas markets” fuelling “future resource wars over water, food and energy.” The Department of Defense’s (DoD) Army Modernisation Strategy predicted a resurgence of:

“… anti-government and radical ideologies that potentially threaten government stability.”

The study also warned of a possible shortfall in global oil output by 2015:

“A severe energy crunch is inevitable without a massive expansion of production and refining capacity. While it is difficult to predict precisely what economic, political, and strategic effects such a shortfall might produce, it surely would reduce the prospects for growth in both the developing and developed worlds. Such an economic slowdown would exacerbate other unresolved tensions.”

No shit………  I mean, who’d a thunk…??  Did they do their research on my blog or something….?

Over the weekend, there was a very lengthy debate (over 280 comments) on Facebook about Near Term Extinction (NTE) at an open group (ie, anyone can join, all discussion public, including the NSA) called Doomer Party….  the discussion was over a blog entry http://robinwestenra.blogspot.co.nz/2013/07/considering-near-term-extinction-and_5.html which is a darned good read.  But the theme of the entire thread was “we’re doomed” and “there’s nothing we can do……”

I’ve actually given a lot of thought to what we can do.  And it’s not personal action such as is broadly described within these virtual covers of my cyber book….

The problem is the Matrix.  So the Matrix must come down.  And I believe the Matrix is actually quite vulnerable, and all it would take is some 10% of its participants to wake up to this fact, and do something.

The Plan

Well it’s not a plan yet, it’s a notion…..  the Matrix relies as much on money as a car relies on fuel.  Turn the fuel off, and the car stops.  EASY!  I reckon if 10% of the people with bank accounts, and let’s face it, that’s ALL of us now, suddenly stopped servicing all their debts all at once, AND, those ‘in the know’ that this was going to occur but weren’t in debt and actually had money in the bank took their funds out well ahead of time, the Matrix would collapse, within a week…..  Cash flow is utterly essential.  And if 50 or a 100 million people did this, HOW could they possibly repossess everyone’s goods and chattels?

The deal would be to pick a date, say 4 July next year, advertise this all over Facebook and Twitter and whatever else works, and network the networks…..

When I suggested this on the Doomer Party thread, I was pretty well howled down…….  so I’m not holding my breath that anything of the sort will occur, because even the committed Collapsniks don’t care to save themselves.  Losers.

Just think how simple and elegant this is…….  while those poor bastards in Turkey and Egypt face tear gas and rubber bullets, we could be bringing the system down while watching them on TV….  I tell you, they are doing it all wrong!

I’ve got seedlings to plant before the rains come back later this week…..  but I’d love to know what my followers think.
